goals

You actively block your own goals to focus.

Goal shielding is the process where the activation of a target goal inhibits the accessibility of competing goals.

When you focus on a priority, your cognitive system suppresses thoughts of other desired outcomes. You effectively blind yourself to other possibilities to ensure the primary task is completed.

Focus is the art of ignoring what you also want.
