Red colors subtly kill your performance on tests.

A 2007 study by Elliot et al. in the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General found that viewing the color red before an exam can result in statistically significant performance decrements, but these are small in magnitude, not a 20% reduction.

The research identified a negative effect on performance, but the actual impact is a modest, incremental decrease in test scores, not a 20% decline.

The color of your grading pen changes your brain's ability to solve problems.

What the check found
While the 2007 study by Elliot et al. exists and confirms that exposure to the color red can negatively influence performance, the 20% magnitude is a massive distortion of the actual finding.
