Your physical movements can prime your mental speed.

Mental rotation of objects takes longer when the angle of rotation is greater.

Participants are shown two 3D shapes and asked if they are identical. They solve the task by mentally rotating one object until it aligns with the other. The time taken is directly proportional to the degree of rotation required, proving we simulate physical manipulation in our minds.

Thinking is often just a physical simulation without the movement.
