Talking to yourself in the third person reduces stress.

A 2017 study found that using one's own name to describe problems lowers activity in brain regions associated with emotional distress.

The research was published by Moser et al. in Scientific Reports (2017) rather than the 2014 Kross et al. study.

You can regulate your own anxiety by stepping outside of your internal perspective.
